The ACT WorkKeys Skills Assessment

The Indianola Career and Technical Center in collaboration with the Indianola Capps Technology Center and the Sunflower County Economic Development Council recently administered the ACT WorkKeys Skills Assessment to a select group of tenth and eleventh grade students enrolled in its Career and Technical Education programs.

A requirement for local and national employers such as Milwaukee Tools, examinees must successfully complete a three part assessment with Applied Mathematics, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents to earn a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC).

The ACT NCRC is awarded at four levels based upon the scores achieved on each sub-test:

* Platinum – Scores of Level 6 or higher on each sub-test. Platinum indicates the examinee possesses approximately 99% of the skills required for profiled jobs.

* Gold – Scores of Level 5 or higher on each sub-test. Gold indicates the examinee possesses approximately 93% of the skills required for profiled jobs.

* Silver – Scores of Level 4 or higher on each sub-test. Silver indicates the examinee possesses approximately 69% of the skills required for profiled jobs.
